It operates seasonally during Ramadan, offering a diverse range of traditional Malay and Ramadan-themed dishes. Visitors can explore a wide selection of local favorites such as satay and otak-otak, alongside various kuih and other festive snacks. The atmosphere is lively and bustling, especially in the evenings when crowds gather to enjoy the communal dining experience. Review highlights

Based on 24 reviews

Bazaar Ramadan Plaza Angsana in Johor Bahru is widely appreciated for its extensive variety of traditional Malay and Ramadan delicacies, catering well to both local visitors and those from neighboring regions. Patrons frequently highlight the diverse culinary options, with particular praise for popular dishes such as biryani rice and unique snacks like takoyaki. The vibrant atmosphere, often enhanced by live DJs and bustling crowds, contributes to the lively Ramadan bazaar experience. However, the market tends to become very crowded in the late afternoons and evenings, leading to challenges such as limited parking and the need for visitors to be mindful of their belongings. Pricing is noted to vary, with some food items considered slightly pricey but generally deemed worth the experience. Overall, Bazaar Ramadan Plaza Angsana is recognized as a festive and culturally rich destination that offers both variety and an energetic atmosphere during the Ramadan season.

Went to Angsana Bazaar Ramadan every year and choices of food did not dissapoint. Mostly malay/ ramadan foods/ kuih are sold, where these type of foods quite difficult to find in Singapore bazaars. However need to come early as late afternoon can get very crowded. Below youtube video link of ramdan bazaar 2024 and also angsana mall, from my channel. Press like and subscribe. this year went to bazaar ramadan plaza angsana, didn’t buy alot of things just takoyaki and drinks but there’s alot of food stalls!! just prepare to bring portable fan, saw 2 people dropped and spilled their drinks here in 1 day, just take care and be careful, hold your drinks properly HAHAHAHA and also stay safe and take care of your personal belongings, okay that’s it :) price wise can be abit pricey but what can i say it’s cheaper than in singapore bazaar. thank you.

Came here on a drizzling Wed 19/3 and it was the best decision I had ever made (Wanted to came down the next day). To those who remembered. This day’s rainy weather was the last day for those visiting the place (especially for Singaporeans) because JB was hit by a big flood the next day affecting so many major roads. The plethora of dishes were crazy… You will definitely be spoilt for choice. Ok let’s get on with the review… 1) Dendeng (To die for!) 2) Ayam Penyet (Ok ok la better get Ayam Bakar) 3) Satay … (PERGGGHHH) 4) The rest, try at your own risk. But I’m sure they are not that bad. Wanted to get corndogs coz they were super big! Unfortunately, the stall opened late. Didn’t get to try.

2026 Quick Reference Information: Operating Dates: 18-February-2026 to 20-March-2026 There is No Confirmed End-Date, but its expected to run throughout Ramadan 2026. Operating Time: 12.00pm to 8.00pm Total Number of Stalls: Over 300 Stalls This is the Largest Ramadan Bazaar in the Whole of Malaysia Johor. Not just Johor Bahru mind you, but the State of Johor Malaysia. Apparently for over 10 Years already, this Ramadan Bazaar is held Every Year at the Same Open Carpark Location in Angsana Mall. The Bazaar Ramadan consists of 4 Main Sections: The Shopping Tentage Section The Dining-Hall Tentage Section The Main Food Stalls Section The Fireworks Stalls Section There are No Portable Toilets / Restrooms from what I see. If you need, Angsana Mall itself is just nearby so you can just go back to the Mall. The Largest Section of the Bazaar Ramadan is of course where the Various Food / Drink Stall Vendors are. 1.30pm on a Saturday Afternoon Quite Empty and Not much Crowds at this time, some Food Stalls weren't Fully Open yet. 4.30pm on a Saturday Afternoon. Crowds have Noticeably Increased, but was still at a Comfortable Level. On a Saturday Weekend, the Best Timing to visit the Food Stalls I feel is between 4.00pm to 5.00pm where you can feel the Bazaar's Vibrant Vibe and Energy and yet it is also Not Overly Crowded. This was also the Best Timing where you also won't inconvenience the Muslim Folks who are there to purchase Foods for their Iftar later. 8.30pm on a Saturday Evening. As the Iftar (Breaking Fast) Timing has passed, some Food Stalls have Closed, but most were still open for Business. Crowd Level is at a Comfortable Level. Details about the Fireworks Stalls There are also Fireworks Stalls which for a Singaporean like me is the Most Unique Aspect of this Bazaar Ramadan and is something that we will NEVER EVER see in our own Singapore Bazaar Ramadan. If you are like me, have never seen an Actual Real-Life Firework Package before or how much it cost, here's your chance I guess. Its quite an Experience to be able to enjoy watching some Free Fireworks Display while I was there! Folks were really enjoying themselves. The Fireworks were practically Non-Stop Firing when I was there even at 8.30pm! Thanks for Reading. Come join my Food Blog.
